Dermabrasion Skin Treatment
Acne and acne scars can be tough to remove due to deep scarring. There are various treatments available to remove acne scarring in the safest possible way. Dermabrasion skin treatment is one such treatment that works on acne scars and is extensively recommended by most doctors.
What is Dermabrasion?
Dermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that removes facial scars and acne using a rotating instrument, helping to reduce the scars, damaged or uneven skin, fine lines, or skin texture. This procedure is more popular among the youth as they want to improve their skin’s appearance. This treatment gently exfoliates the top layer of skin and nourishes new skin growth, resulting in a smoother and more youthful skin tone.
Remove Stubborn Acne Scars & Skin Imperfections
Want to wipe away those terrible acne scars? Try dermabrasion. Carried out by a dermatological surgeon, it is a cosmetic medical procedure to enhance appearance through controlled surgical wearing away (scraping). It is used in the treatment or removal of:

Facial wrinkles

Acne scars

Dark spots

Pox marks

Age spots

Skin lesions

Accident caused scars

Keratoses
In dermabrasion, an antiseptic is first used to clean the affected region. This is followed by the application of a unique spray on the skin to freeze it. The skin is then abraded using a speedy rotary instrument having a brush or abrasive wheel. A superficial wound is created, the outer skin layers are removed, and the skin surface irregularities are improved. The wound is made in such a way as to not only get rid of the scar but also to enable the development of fresh skin in the normal way.
Treatment For Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is most often used to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by acne, accidents, or previous surgery, or to smooth out wrinkles on the face, such as those around the eyes and mouth.
It is a procedure which used to “refinish” skin so that any irregularities on the surface of the skin are smoothed out. Dermabrasion involves removing the surface layers of skin using a diamond bush. On the day of the procedure, dressings have to be applied to the areas.
The procedure is done using local anesthetic with sedatives, or even general anesthesia. After the procedure, the skin may feel sensitive for some time, and recovery takes about 10 days.
